Anyone on here met any celebrities? Not just seen them in person, but actually met and spoken to any?

Myself and some other coaches in my county got to go onto the field pre-game for a Red Sox game as guests of Jackie Bradley Jr. the year they last won the World Series in 2018 I believe. Got to meet the whole team and spoke with multiple Yankees players while they were taking BP.

Met the Jets Safety Chuck Clark during his rookie season with the Ravens on a cruise ship. My oldest was wearing a Va Tech shirt and he introduced himself having just gone there. Played dodgeball with him. Great guy.

Had a beer with Dave Matthews in Charlottesville.

Met Penn from Penn and Teller by chance at an amusement park.

Went backstage and hung out with the band Korn for 20 min or so. A guy’s father, who worked for me, was the life coach for their band. Pretty reserved dudes.

Can’t think of any one else, but I’ve never had a bad experience meeting any of them contrary to what you read about.

Heard he’s a good dude. I’ve got a mess of his rookie cards somewhere.

I met Mr McFeeley the delivery/ mailman from Mr Roger’s Neighborhood. He was doing an appearance at the Fayette County Family Funfest. Additionally, at the time, I got a job being Smokey Bear at the last minute as we had a friend who worked for the DCNR and he needed someone. Was a lot of fun! Kids loved it!

Maybe this fits your scenario. In 1976, I went to the American Royal 4-H Conference in Kansas City. The banquet speaker was Jesse Owens. We were allowed to go up after his speech and get an autograph if we wished. I got his autograph on the banquet program. I likely thanked him for it, so maybe that counts as speaking to him. grin

About 25 years ago one night when WWF was in town, we were hanging out at the local strip club. Undertaker, the Godwins and a couple others were all sitting at a big table, each had their own escort. After a few shots I got the courage to walk up behind Taker, tap him on the shoulder and asked if I could shake his hand. He stands up and we shake hands, he really is a big dude. Then the other wrestlers stick their hands out and I shake em but didn’t really care. I turn around to go back and there’s a line up of guys behind me….lol
Super nice guys. I had to tell the wife that one though.

You guys probably don’t know them, but I’ve met two celebrities in my life, both when I was a kid. The first was Sally Starr, a local children’s television host and minor celebrity. Back then my dad was an air traffic controller at the local regional airport. The Blue Angels had performed that day and I was with my dad and mom at the after party. Sally Starr was there and she was drunk and she was hitting on the blue angel pilots. LOL

The second was Soupy Sales, a minor celebrity comedian. My brother and I were selling golf balls that we salvaged out of the ponds on the golf course. We’d clean them up and display them in egg cartons near one of the tee offs. Soupy Sales was a regular there and he always tried to haggle us down on the price of the balls. We figured a famous guy like that was probably wealthy and we considered him a cheapskate.

Eh...wot?

I've met Paul Neuman briefly , shook his hand. He used to involved in racing and seen him at the dealership that sponsored his cars.

I've met Robert Vaughn briefly , shook his hand. He used to live one town away.

I took a half hour ride in a car with Antonio Farcus ( original 'huggy bear' ) from Starky&Hutch.

I am 66 and a half. I don't recall ever meeting someone "famous".
I am 66 and a half. Maybe I just can't remember.
I have met and gotten to know a number of people who I consider heroes, either from what they have done that actually matters in life, or who helped me become a man, which to me supersedes any "famous" celebrity or sports icon.
Carlos Hathcock comes to mind. He never considered himself a hero nor a celebrity nor famous. He would say to me that he was just doing his job.

I did some work for a pretty wealthy guy from Los Angeles once. He told me to always remember they go to the bathroom same as the rest of us. That has kept pretty well grounded when meeting guys like a guvnor or some sports athlete or coach. They are just guys.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

I can’t disagree with any of that. Certainly never said I idolized them, I’m always just fascinated by folks who know others that a lot of folks have heard about for any number of reasons or the path that life takes to be introduced to folks like that.

I would say personally knowing ‘White Feather’ is pretty dang cool. I’d hs e to assume he was a man’s man with very regimented beliefs based on what I’ve read about him.

Tyler Perry Studios has been a client going on eight years now. I was with The Walking Dead for three seasons. Done a few other movie gigs.

NDA aside I honestly can't say whether any of the folks I met and meet are famous or not because frankly, I don't care. Seriously I could rattle off names but they're people just like the rest of us some good some bad.

We get some “famous” folks that come down to quail hunt, but we don’t advertise or mention it due to returning clientele.
I will say this, most all act like everyone on here. They have the same interest we do. They have families and dogs and will talk about them. The only thing that makes them different, is us.
My son has met some seriously important folks…the kind that have their own bodyguards and protection details, lol. He said even those guys want to talk about hunting, dogs, children and tell you about their grandchildren. They want to know the best place to get fried chicken or catfish, lol.
I will say, they are good tippers too!!
