About 25 years ago one night when WWF was in town, we were hanging out at the local strip club. Undertaker, the Godwins and a couple others were all sitting at a big table, each had their own escort. After a few shots I got the courage to walk up behind Taker, tap him on the shoulder and asked if I could shake his hand. He stands up and we shake hands, he really is a big dude. Then the other wrestlers stick their hands out and I shake em but didn’t really care. I turn around to go back and there’s a line up of guys behind me….lol Super nice guys. I had to tell the wife that one though.
Wind Blew, crap flew, out came the line crew

You guys probably don’t know them, but I’ve met two celebrities in my life, both when I was a kid. The first was Sally Starr, a local children’s television host and minor celebrity. Back then my dad was an air traffic controller at the local regional airport. The Blue Angels had performed that day and I was with my dad and mom at the after party. Sally Starr was there and she was drunk and she was hitting on the blue angel pilots. LOL
The second was Soupy Sales, a minor celebrity comedian. My brother and I were selling golf balls that we salvaged out of the ponds on the golf course. We’d clean them up and display them in egg cartons near one of the tee offs. Soupy Sales was a regular there and he always tried to haggle us down on the price of the balls. We figured a famous guy like that was probably wealthy and we considered him a cheapskate.
Eh...wot?

I've met Paul Neuman briefly , shook his hand. He used to involved in racing and seen him at the dealership that sponsored his cars.
I've met Robert Vaughn briefly , shook his hand. He used to live one town away.
I took a half hour ride in a car with Antonio Farcus ( original 'huggy bear' ) from Starky&Hutch.

I did some work for a pretty wealthy guy from Los Angeles once. He told me to always remember they go to the bathroom same as the rest of us. That has kept pretty well grounded when meeting guys like a guvnor or some sports athlete or coach. They are just guys.

I am 66 and a half. I don't recall ever meeting someone "famous". I am 66 and a half. Maybe I just can't remember. I have met and gotten to know a number of people who I consider heroes, either from what they have done that actually matters in life, or who helped me become a man, which to me supersedes any "famous" celebrity or sports icon. Carlos Hathcock comes to mind. He never considered himself a hero nor a celebrity nor famous. He would say to me that he was just doing his job. I can’t disagree with any of that. Certainly never said I idolized them, I’m always just fascinated by folks who know others that a lot of folks have heard about for any number of reasons or the path that life takes to be introduced to folks like that. I would say personally knowing ‘White Feather’ is pretty dang cool. I’d hs e to assume he was a man’s man with very regimented beliefs based on what I’ve read about him.
