What set do you guys use for a bank like this:



I got this screenshot off YouTube and they were using dog proofs, but I want to catch almost everything that walks down it

If coons is all your after just stick a dp in the ground and be done with it.

cat grey fox coyote coon could be caught there. no telling. put some lure or bait in the hole under the tree and bed a trap in front of it

Where that tree is down going across to the water in the background there might be a chance for a blindset there at the waters edge.

All those root balls "points" would make great spots for baited/scent post sets.

Good plan. A snare off that limb sticking up might hit too.

It would work, i just dont like digging hole for coon lol. Dog proofs, PVC, or portable pockets are the way to go on these banks

I wouldn't put a set where a coon could get into those roots. That's just asking for a pull out. A DP between the trees and waterline will catch any coon traveling that bank. To me, the place to target cat, fox, and coyote with a dirt hole is off the end of that crossing log.

I'm with Bruce. I'm betting a simple blind set at the fallen tree can be found. Maybe throw a dirt hole on the high bank to catch the critters on the high road. Sign present of course.

About any set, especially if you're targeting Mink. Guaranteed coon catcher!

Biggest thing is make sure your trap is bedded solid or it'll be flipped upside down in no time.

Fish stick?

PVC pipe set or a fish stick is how I would set it up. I don’t use pipe sets often but they work good on banks like these where you can’t dig a pocket set. Plus they catch mink and otter too.

I was going to say pvc pipe set too. If you have coon sign there make a set or two for sure. If you make one in water with end of pipe facing the bank and foothold between the pipe and bank, and other in grass to right but bed trap in front if it and have pipe face the water.
Those two sets if you put them about 10-15 feet apart will take anything working that bank edge. Anchor solidly, I’ve caught enough coyotes and an occasional beaver in my coon edge sets to know you need to anchor for an elephant. I try to get them in water when I can but if things freeze up just anchor solidly and lots of swivels works well.
Your screenshot it looks like they have a double on coon in that pic and the coons caught give you a decent perspective on size of this bank area. Water must be low because it was probably where the coon are held in that pic at one time. Plan for higher or lower water too.

I block them off and blind set the opening.

A dirt hole to get any travelers. Set on sign ALWAYS a good idea.
