I got curious about egg prices in the past. Looked up the price in 1930 and according to Google it was 40 to 45 cents a dozen. A 1930 dollar is the equivalent of about 40 dollars today. Eggs are cheap! They should be 20 dollars a dozen!

In 1966 I had an egg delivery route I ran with my bicycle delivering eggs to neighbors. I was charging 60 cents a dozen delivered to your door. That price paid for feed but almost no profit at all.

I was getting off the bypass and coming to a stop light and I looked to the left and saw about ten busted eggs. No carton. They were just broken beside the road as if someone’s car door flung open and the eggs spilled out. They must have taken the two home that made it. I just thought oh what a cryin shame

While I don't think that $10 a dozen is cheap, I thought that the comparison put it into a different perspective. Too often we all compare the cost of items without looking at the difference in dollar value.

The price of eggs is coming down here in Iowa. Kwik Star had them for $3.99 a dozen last night. I sell mine for $ 3.00 a dozen.

Went into another small store on the way home, 4.99 A dozen and had all ya want.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

You betcha. I enjoy digging up odd things like this. If you look closely at history it proves the saying "the more things change the more they stay the same."

Probably some kid dropped them off top the bypass trying to hit your car and missed.

Kwik Trip (NE Wisconsin) this week $3.99/doz. They sold out twice this past week. Local grocery store still 8.99/doz. Hope it's a sign that eggs are coming down.
