As long as other governments protect their markets, there will be no free trade. It doesn't matter how much the US Republicans say they are are for it, all sides have to participate.

Trump has always been in favor of cutting rates.

I don't agree with him

no dirt low rates increase inflation . But it does make investors rich and stimulate the economy. I don't want them going down stupid low again regardless of who is in office even though it will be good for my net worth.

With almost $37,000,000,000,000 (trillion of National debt). Folks don't understand that going on a fiscal diet is no different than going a weight loss diet. It's going to be no fun, it's painful at times, especially if you are much accustomed to overeating. That's about as simple of an explanation as can be, and I didn't coin it, it came as an excerpt from the Wall Street Journal. AND, the end result if you stick to the plan, (diet) is beneficial to America and all American's. Just not as pleasant to the folks with their hands out for free stuff.

As much as any worry I have - is all of this posturing, discourse, tariffs, etc - have not had time to run their course to a positive outcome - and four years from now, we go back to a liberal agenda. This is going to have to come to fruition in a hurry - relatively speaking

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

It is a stretch and a huge one to believe businesse are going to invest hundreds of billions to build plants and factories that have long term horizons, when their balance sheets are dropping rapidly and impacting their leverage, their interest rates on monies borrowed etc.

And what happens - with a real possibility - everything is undone in four years.

Today’s losses at Stifel Nicholas. Add in the $32,000 in other accounts, call it 100 grand. That’s not counting yesterday’s losses.

Talked to a couple of builders last couple of days.

Business has taken off like crazy since Trump got elected.

One is booked out 18 months, multi-million dollar homes. (lots of money for home in this area)

Customers don't care about the tariffs, if prices for lumber are up they don't care, get it done!.

Market doesn't seem to bother them.

I read that China filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization over the reciprocal tariffs.

Foreign companies are already pledging trillions of $$$ to build manufacturing plants in the U.S. The United States is, by far, the largest consumer of any nation on the planet. It would stand to reason, we hold a pretty decent poker hand.[Linked Image]

We can't continue to be a debtor, consumer nation. Time to bite the bullet and right the ship.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

yeah voters don't have the patience for that

the trump tariffs can't stay in place for long, the market is tanking us into a recession and R's know they will get slaughtered in mid terms...
