Talked to a couple of builders last couple of days.
Business has taken off like crazy since Trump got elected.
One is booked out 18 months, multi-million dollar homes. (lots of money for home in this area)
Customers don't care about the tariffs, if prices for lumber are up they don't care, get it done!.
Market doesn't seem to bother them.
those millionaire customers may not but that is way above average home price for the US though. Many more people struggling to get by paycheck to paycheck now.

Tarrifs haven't even affected the price of anything yet, but somehow everything is now out of reach for the average consumer. Good Lord, get a grip!

My short ETFs have enjoyed the last two days.
Anyone who thought the markets were at all time highs in 2024 and would keep going that way was living on nothing but group psycho babble hot air. Such people really need to look at other sources of information...

Trapperkeck, actually it has affected us. I run a small company that is a manufacturer using materials that are tariffed. I used to purchase domestically but the materials are not produced here anymore. We have been in business for 31 years. I purchase domestically as much as I can, however it is just not possible. This week we are being charged with the tariffs on key items that I used to purchase in Ohio. I cannot purchase them from Ohio anymore. It is easy to say to just switch to a domestic supplier but that does not exist.i had to increase prices substantially this week and new orders shut down. If this debacle continues, I guess I will tell my 24 employees they are expendable. Very sad. You just spelled out what's trying to be fixed but don't see it?
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

This unforced error is objectively the worst blunder committed by a US President in my 51 years. Likely the worst ever.
What other President caused trillions of dollars of wealth to evaporate by executive order?
To be fair, all the rest were printing money at a rate that has made the U.S. dollar nearly worthless. A few more years of that status quo and you wouldn't need to worry about your investment portfolio. While I'm not a fan of watching my investments decline in value (well over $100k for me), I do understand the national security risk of having to rely on foreign entities like China for things like life-saving medications. No other president would attempt this because it would end their own gravy train. You should be thanking your lucky stars there is one man who loves this country and has the balls to try to save it. Kicking the can down the road with old, failed policies isn't going to get it done.

It goes up and down. It doesn't lose if you don't sell. Maybe so, but there is different traders and getting margin calls can sure make it seem one is losing. It fluctuates and all goes well until one gets fluctuated into Hooverville, lol.

It's taken decades to get in the shape we are in. it won't be fixed over night. Short term pain for long term gain.

Just milk your employees for all you can get out of them and clean your creditors for all you can get, over inflate your net worth and borrow more than your worth then file bankruptcy and hope no one gets curious where the money went. All perfectly legitimate in todays world.

It goes up and down. It doesn't lose if you don't sell. Are you retired and now dependent on distributions from your investments as part of your income?

Maybe he doesn't mind buying better, cheaper materials from a foreign supplier. Number 3. He will probably be paying more, and so will his customers. It is a world wide market and that is not the end of the world. Now I have to sell some fur to the world. have a good day.

Pretty tough to bail out after the damage is done. Not saying it’s over.
I am a little disappointed I was listening to our president when he led us to believe he was gonna be “nicer” to our trade….adversaries. Ahead of liberation day.
His words and my logic had me hopeful.
