Somewhere groups always seem to get whacky in their reasoning. Reason in a warped thought process is just that, "warped". Won't you all agree that hard work is a honorable trait. So if a guy makes a living moving refrigerators that is honorable ? Then stealing refrigerators is also an honorable living because it is hard work ?
Some want to go from their abstinence and put it on you by outlawing it. Or they could have other sinister notions and just have prohibition for the taxes. They argue alcohol kills and should be outlawed, but many have the same thoughts on guns. They want to shift the personal responsibility over to a society conscience for which there is none, it ultimately falls on the individuals choice and their conscience.
The nut groups also want to tie Jesus and John the Baptist to the Essenes that remained celibate, didn't partake of alcohol or meat. They kill two birds there. Jesus didn't make wine nor would he have done the miracle of feeding the fish.
There is such a thing as a dry drunk. They may have never tasted alcohol and yet have flaws that are worse than alcohol. The alcohol camouflages those flaws sometimes and the blame is shifted to alcohol.
Of course the social influence with fertility and romance has to be accounted for with mandrakes and alcohol all of which there is nothing new under the sun.
I know a lot of people want to drink. That's fine. We are all adults and make our own choices.
Just make accurate statements when it comes to alcohol. Drink all you want when you want.
I’ll be the first to say that I hate a hangover with a passion. I limit and go to bed when I feel I’ve had enough. It DOES cloud the mind. And that makes saying “enough” difficult. I’m happy to say that I wake up without a pounding headache from too much beer 99 percent of the time. You are right, we are all responsible for our actions.
According to the American Medical Association, a glass of wine, a beer, or a shot of 'spirits' every day is recommended.
Sadly, I fail to keep up with that practice.
A little Scotch Whisky at bed time helps me go to sleep. So there is that.

“The American Medical Association applauds the Surgeon General’s work to make completely clear the link between alcohol consumption and increased cancer risk. For years, the AMA has said that alcohol consumption at any level, not just heavy alcohol use or addictive alcohol use, is a modifiable risk factor for cancer. And yet, despite decades of compelling evidence of this connection, too many in the public remain unaware of alcohol’s risk. Today’s advisory, coupled with a push to update the Surgeon General’s health warning label on alcoholic beverages, will bolster awareness, improve health, and save lives.”
Tomorrow it's a bloody Mary, a beer, and a cigar. Life is sweet.
In the Roman times they decreed that the soldiers should drink 3L of wine a day.. I don't think they're wine was as potent as today's wines or Rome wouldn't of lasted as long as it did. It is why Vinis venifera is so widely distributed across Europe as the Roman empire expanded and the plant was easy to grow from cuttings.
I don't drink a lot. A glass of wine most nights. Mainly just so I don't destroy a jug of tea or milk in one day. Beer is rare for me because I'm fairly sensitive to bitterness . I'll get a yenling or a Guinness just to have something to nurse on while waiting around at the golf course.
Alcohol itself might not have a purpose but the drinks themselves do. Diffirent drinks can help enhance a meal. It's why coffee and sweets are served together a lot. The bitterness of coffee nullifies the sweetness of whatever dessert you have. .

The taste of the wine of beer may very well make the meal taste better. The alcohol does not help with this. If you drink too many and decide to have more food than you would have otherwise, that is not healthy and directly attributable to the effects of the alcohol itself. If we are honest, this happens when we have maybe even just one too many. Been there, done that.

Isn't that the same group that said the covid shots were safe and effective? Do you know of anything that is not linked to cancer.
For decades doctors have Said a Glass of wine a day is good for you.

BAN THE INTERNET and pass the liquor bottle!!! Everyone knows typing on the computer is a whole lot worse than drinking alcohol. Think of the lives and families that have been ruined and killed due to too much internet.
Oh the humanity!!!
Are you really naive enough to believe what you just typed?
