Product of MTD , Cub Cadet is a subsidiary of MTD , last I worked there, the hoods, fenders and body were mostly plastic.
I worked at MTD started as a lawn tractor company then went automotive parts .
Last I knew they make the riding mowers in Shiloh, OH.
Seen that they now make side by side ATV's now.
Some last while others are junk.
It's a crap shoot with anything anymore.

I have a 2003 John Deere L120 and have been told it’s not a real Deere because it has a Briggs and Stratton motor in it. I joked with the fella that told me that and said that’s funny cause the only thing on that tractor I have never had to work on is the motor.

I have a cub cadet zero turn. It has a Honda motor in it. That was why I got it.

If you buy a Cub Cadet, go ahead and get 2. That way, maybe, just maybe, one will be running while the other is being worked on...

My grandma had a Cub Cadet rider and it only lasted three or four years, I hauled it to the scrap yard for her a couple years ago after she had it into the shop and they said it would cost more to fix it than it was worth. But I swear she goes through a push mower every year, so take that for what it is worth. At 94 years old her favorite hobby is mowing the lawn, she is out there every couple days mowing, she has a plain grass lawn and she washes her mower, including under the deck every time she uses it. So I have no idea what she does that is so hard on them. I've went through two push mowers in the last twenty years and I never clean them and cut anything they will cut, including chest high canary grass, brush, dirt, and a few times dog chains and cable tie outs. lol

Interesting , like I said it's been since 2001 that I worked there.
Also find it interesting that MTD's automotive division filed bankruptcy and I get my pension from a government source .
Yet MTD is still going strong.

Beer holder and phone holster and your golden.

So OW worked at MTD.
I'll remember that next time I'm cussing one.
Kidding, after about the third one I leaned to avoid them.

What the real men of the web (lol)
could use is a non mtd list of mowers.

Savell, I like your style. The neighbors rejoice when I finally decide to mow my yard. Now weed eating I do once or twice a year, less if given the chance.

I have had one for 10 years. Treat it bad - almost like brush hog, cut way too tall grass- almost hay, small trees. Had to do a few minor repairs. But I do the maintenance on it and it keeps going.

I never thought to change the battery, probably gave away a good mower. Lol

It looks like it has one of the thin stamped decks. If it does, it won't last long.

Using it 6 times per year to mow a small clearing in a shaded out East TX thicket.....that mower should last a while. Go around the bigger protruding oak tree roots.

Also, don't let the young'uns use it to mow the neighbors yards for only $20 a pop.

I have a cub from 1999, it's a 14hp Onan Cummins gasser.........
It has just recently been retired to bush hog duty as it was replaced by a cub zero turn with a 23hp kawasaki motor

I will tell you, warranty is different from a dealer rather than a big box store

Keep the deck cleaned out and paint it with slip plate graphite paint

Otherwise just do maintenance like your life depends on it

LOL Like I said, I worked automotive parts!
Doesn't mater, as name anything that's made by anyone that's built to last anymore.
