Apparently Starlink is down world wide. Son n law texted and said Musk tweeted about it and said should be fixed soon.

First time I’ve ever had trouble with Starlink. Normally works waaaay better than our old rural carrier.

Hmm, maybe it’s intermittent world wide. I’m not a Twitter guy or whatever so I didn’t see the actual post.

Mine is out and a few other people I know with it around here are down too.

I love our Starlink it’s about only service I can get back in our area, and it works better than our service at our old house did.
The kit was great but I used my own lag bolts and sealant on a bracket I ordered for it off of Amazon. Ran the line down under the upper deck roof and used cable clamps to secure it. Bought a marine wiring cover for the hole I made to enter the house, did a drip loop with the cable to that marine waterproof cover, and a nice interior cable cover on inside to make it look nice on its way to hook up to the router.
Was a super easy install and the app was great for testing and aligning.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I love mine. No outages for me.

I chose not to run cables down my roof or exterior.

So, overall, you folks on the Star link, what do you think of it ?
I'm looking at Res, Lite but don't think it is available at my locale.

Thanks

Ours was down for awhile, first time ever that amounted to anything.

Minor compared to the other services I've had.

Best thing since sliced bread, imo

Part of WV Broadband initiative they ran fiber with Frontier as the provider and did away with our copper lines. Our only choice was Frontier, it is so disappointing, the first year it was great, but after that it is constantly down so we went with Starlink.
I think opening the box was the most technical and difficult process in the set up. I mounted it on the eve edge of roof. Using the QR code to get the app on my phone, I then used the app to find the least obstructed area, the app then again was used to align the "dish". Super easy and once all plugged in we are good to go. The only thing I recommend is using a battery back up if your power goes out all the time because it takes 10+ minutes to reconnect after a power outage. I also added a soft start to my air condition because when running the generator it had a tendency to drop when the compressor kicked in.
Performance wise, I am able to work from home while my wife is streaming TV and I am streaming music without any buffering.
I could not be happier with Starlink.

No problem, I was going to mention that our neck of the woods does not qualify for the lite version.
As a side note, we had Hughes net, could not make a phone call let alone stream TV, some of the worst money I ever spent.
I hope it works well for you.

^^ I agree DK! Easy set up with easy app! Had the same trouble as you with our old provider.

Yesterday was the only time its ever gone out, and it wasn't for long. I haven't noticed the lag after power outage. Ours seems to come right back on.

I'm going to get Starlink for our camp in Canada fer sure.

We had several storms go through after I installed it and service was still great. Got two of us working from home at times plus an older son who likes his PlayStation online. Ran all of that no problemo and fast speeds.
