When I was 17 or so, this band was big. Haven’t heard much now but the album kept us through a summer swimming at pool parties having pop and pizza.

It's a pretty song, Smash. I know 3rd Eye Blind of course, we are the same age. But, if I ever knew this song I never "knew" the words.

We came from opposite sides of the track. Pool parties with pop and pizza??? I thought those only existed on the soap operas my Grandma watched every afternoon. I'm 44 years old and have never been to a pool party. My mom got pizza once a month for she and I..... ALWAYS the best day of the month, because we ALSO got an 8 pack of Pepsi to share for the month on that day. On my side of the tracks we got someone's older brother to buy us a keg and hauled it down to the crick... in that spot that no one in the county owned where we could all drive back and park with no one noticing. We had a couple of those spots but the main one was called The Jungle. It was the best spot.

Every song on this album made up my teenage years which were from 12-16 until I "adulted" lol. Most of them can't be posted here, but this is the one our hangout was named after.

But even GnR had some sad ones. In later years, anyways.

Been to my share of pool parties, creek parties and mudding parties with a variety of music and beverages. There were car shows in the city grocery parking lots with the occasional drag race out on a country road but we rarely attended those. Most of the time it was partying down logging roads with bonfires and music. Then, I had to do something with my life. lol

I dont know if anyone in my county had a pool. Kegs on blm in Gold Tom Park. Open up the pick up doors and stick in an 8 track. These got those bell bottomed girls dancing

Saw Third Eye Blind at a small venue 10-12 years ago Smash. That album was great. Definitely influenced my teen years.

I was listening to mostly country when I was 17 back in 1974. I have how ever alway listened to a wide range of music. Lile something or don't. So I'm familiar with Third Eye Blind. Most albums and CDs here in the house are country artists. Even have some Hank Williams on 78 vynal. I do have Third Eye Blind "Jumper, Semi Charmed Life and How's it going to be" on my MP3 play list which is very mixed.

not a song from the time , that was a strange mix of rock , oldies , and country. depending who I was working with we had our compromise on station.

this song was a over a decade later but , listen. I had heard it , but never Heard it till this year when my wife chose it to be played at her memorial.


I would tell you about the crazy parties or whatever , but I was working , sleeping , hunting or fishing in HS , in tech school I was 17 for the first month and looked old enough that I was buying the beer for my 20 year old friends , we would drink beer watch movies and such around the apartment building I lived in that first year of tech school.

Went to a Dead concert in Philadelphia many moons ago. The concert was okay but the ride home was quite an adventure.

I spent fair enough amount of time in a crick too but I did have one friend with a swimming pool who lived in the patch of Keisterville (lol)
They were a bit more well off cause her dad had an upholstery business and they ALWAYS had pop. And chips.

But we were a VERY sheltered group of kids
It’s no wonder we all went kinda bonkers. There was four of us.
One girl lost both her kids in a custody battle which is almost unheard of. One had a child very late in life. The other is estranged from her family and has a domineering husband.
