Been hearing about this storm system coming in.. artic blast with snow… at first the forecast was calling for light snow in my area…. I was planning on leaving my coyote traps out… the super cold weather wasn’t going to be an issue because I can drive right up to them and check them from the cab…
Welp, it went from light snow to 8-12 inches.
Blowing and drifting snow with that much snow is a pretty good sign that I should probably pull the traps…. lol.
We will see what happens on Monday and reset if possible…
Any of you guys have a change in plans as well because of this storm??

No changes 8-12 inches of snow is very typical here in a lake effect zone. The high winds are what make driving tricky.

Our family changed plans but could of, would of, should of maybe changed more. Wife and daughter will arrive in Richmond, VA today for my daughters internship this semester. Wife is flying back Tuesday. Changed plans to beat the storm. Maybe should have put it off another week. This is after a delay from an ACL surgery.

Windchill of -30 here later this morning. That will be below zero like that all day and into tomorrow.
No change in plans here.

Had some good times working storms , I almost miss working them

The biggest thing is that everybody has had plenty of warnings of what just mite hit them. I've gas up and put the plow back on the S-S and gassed up the snow blower. On the plus side, with the cold temps at least it won't be a wet heavy snow at least for us. Sure hope everyone makes it threw ok. Good luck !!! Brought a week worth of fire wood into the shop also.

Forecast of 5-8” of snow with ice and freezing rain here in SE VA. Not gonna be good if we get any ice over 1/4”.

-13 here now. Supposed to be -40 wind chills today. Very slow warm up after today. I have no traps out.

Im right on the ice line, if roads ice over i stay home, if they don't i go to work monday. Traps are all south of me so won't affect getting around where they are. Just might not be able to leave my driveway to get there. Hopefully the power doesn't go off is the main concern down here. Snow is fine, ice isn't!
