A couple of recent posts have reminded me of some things I heard from old timers.

When the oak leaves are the size of a squirrel ear, the walleyes are in the crick.
When there's flowers on the lilac bush, there's morels in the woods.
The first night the frogs really croak is the first night the walleyes run hard.
When the popple leaves curl upwards, it's going to rain.

All of those seemed to hold some truth. You folks have any more to add?

When the redbud blooms catfish start hitting good.

When the cows are laying down you won't catch any fish.

When there is an East Wind or mostly East Wind 100% chance of rain.

Winds out of the east, fish bite the least.
Winds out of the west, fish bite the best.

Yup...east wind ..is a no fish day

The robins have to walk in snow three times before spring. G.

If there's a sundog it means rain within the next 48 hours.
