What year was he/she born? Just curious how far back some of our lineages go. I’m kind of guessing I might have a winning entry: My mother’s father Fred Sodergren was born in May of 1880. His wife ( my grandmother Anna) born 1881.
( When Keith sees this maybe I’ll find out how related we are)!

Carl, my grandparents were born in 1922, 1926, 1926 and 1929. Your grandparents were born before all my great grandparents even, except my matenal, maternal great grandfather Samuel Pryfogle was born in 1880. Samuel was 49 and his wife Mary 42, when my grandmother was born in 1929. I had 5 living great grandparents when I was born. The oldest of whom lived to 94. Her son, my paternal, grandfather lived to 96. His oldest brother lived to 101.
Where were your grandparents born and where did they die. There's a lot of Fredericks and some Freds to look at.

are you asking grand parrent with the earliest birth date ? or how old did they live? or total know trackable relatives.
my oldest age grandparent was my Grandmother Gloria she lived to 95 years old and passed in 2023 a few months short of 96 year old
earliest direct grandparent date of birth really isn't that old 1927
just lost my last grandmother Sue at the beginning of April she had just turned 92
my family had a good run of the all of us oldest children being 22-23 years apart so we didn't have very old grandparents all my Grandparents were still working age when I was a kid.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My dad's mom was born in 1894 in Brainerd, MN. Unfortunately for her, she was a love child from the minister in town. She was shipped off to relatives in Duluth and went to work at 14 in Fargo as a secretary for NP freight.
Tough woman.

My Grandpa was born the year Geronimo got captured, 1885. He had some great stories. Died in 1987 @ 102. My grandpa was 45 when my dad was born. My dad was 45 when I was born. I'm 59 and have a 3 year old, 2 year old and one 7 months old. Hope I pass on some wisdom I didn't have when I was young. This is my great grandpa about 1910 in Loysville PA. He caught these rats on Sherman's Creek. He was born in 1860. I still shoot his shotgun that is in this picture. He didn't have waders to get these rats. Wish I had some of his traps.

Does it have to be a grandparent? I’ve got an “autograph book” from a great aunt (maybe great great aunt?) that is dated 1865, and that is when she was a young adult. Not quite sure what year she was born.
All 4 of my grandparents (now deceased) were born in the late 1800s. Those of you with grandparents born in the 1920s are just youngsters! My parents were born earlier than that! LOL Then I probably shouldn't tell you that mine were born in 1938 and 1940 lol.

My grandparents were all born late 1920's to early/1930's. So not nearly as long ago as some have mentioned. Great grandparents were all born mid/late 1890's to early 1900's. My great-great grandfather is the one that was an "interesting" character... Born 1849 in Illinois. At 12 years old when the civil war started, he ran away from home and tried to join the Union army. The army thought he was a bit young and took him back home. His mom told the army to keep him because she would know where he was and that he was getting fed regularly. So they kept him. He survived the civil war and later became a deputy US marshal out of Ft Smith. After that he moved to the Marshal's office in Guthrie, Oklahoma Indian Territory. He is mentioned in a newspaper article of the time and was known for being the guy you wanted beside you as he was notoriously cool-headed in a gunfight. According to my great grandfather, he was a better lawman than a father... His words were, "He was a mean son of a..." I have a copy of his portrait somewhere. Mike Edit: Found it...

My grandpa on my mom’s side was born in 1921 in what is now known as Slovakia. I was lucky to have had him for as long as I did. He passed away at 91 years of age. I never knew my grandad or grandma on my dad’s side. He had a massive stroke before I was born. He was a mean person my dad said.

We are both whipped by these kids by the end of each day. It's the best job I ever had. My Grandpa grew up by Carlisle Pa and worked at the Indian orphanage there for a while. His claim to fame was that he cut Jim Thorpe's hair.

Mother side: Great Grand Pop Joe. 20 Jan 1870 to 12 Apr 1960.
Father's side: Great Grand Pop Albert. 5 Jun 1877 to 5 Jul 1965.
Both played with me when I was a youngster, I clearly remember both of them very well.
Joe was a fireman utilizing horses and a hand pump. Operated the first motorized firetruck in the city.
Albert helped build the first nuclear submarine Nautilus at the Electric Boat Company Groton Connecticut. Also served in the Spanish American War 1898.
An era when men were men!
