You must be referring to motor and transmission. I wouldn’t say easy but not uncommon for 250k+. Work truck has been used heavily and rough. How else are you supposed to use a work truck? It is well maintained however high cost to keep on the road. A vehicle over 100k will be a lot cheaper than new sale price but there will be numerous repairs and maintenance expenses unless you’re lucky like the guy that said he got 500k on his truck without doing anything.

I must be super lucky then, my last 4 f150s have all gone 275k plus with no major issues aside from my own self burning a transmission up. Basic stuff, oil, sparkplugs, brakes etc. did all that myself. Put 100k on the last one andvsold it in running condition. It had 298k on it.

I don't agree. That's not been my experience. Like I said. I'm money ahead from buying pre-owned.

I bought my 2010 Tundra used with 26,000 miles on it. It now has 333,000+ miles on it with no major issues. The biggest issue was the heater box broke at 80,000 miles.
I bought my 2016 Tundra used with 120,000 miles on it, and there have been no issues with it.
I like buying preowned.

I am a Tundra fan also. Bought mine new just over a year ago and love it.

My current 2018 Tundra came from Florida. I bought it three years ago. It was owned by a Spanish-speaking contractor, low mileage and not a spot of rust on it. All the radio presets were to Spanish-speaking, Spanish-music-playing stations LOL

I was going to buy a new Tundra since the insurance company gave me 3/4 what I paid for my old Tundra 15 years after I bought it new. But then I realized Toyota was no longer making the super reliable 5.7L or any V-8. The new V-6 was having some issues at that time so I went with used.

Eh...wot?

I guess I own the biggest POS vehicles known to man. Haven’t figured out how to use a vehicle and be maintenance/issue free.

I've put money and maintenance into them. I'm still ahead though. The cost hasn't justified by using new. No car payment is nice too. Money left over for other things. Why give my hard earned money to the bank plus interest. No thanks. Not for a depreciating liability. Where all in different situations in our lives. Have different wants and needs.
