I wasn't trying to offend you or suggest you were a poor driver. Just that it won't cost much to try shifting at a slightly higher RPM.

No offense taken. Given the small number of vehicles produced nowadays with standards, it would not be surprising for someone to have driven only automatics and not know when to shift a standard. Keeping the rpms up out of the range where the skip happens doesn't fix the problem but only avoids the symptom and associated annoyance. Being under warranty I want it fixed.

I refuse to buy a new vehicle because of sales tax and licensing fees alone.

Have you tried placing some rubber duckies on the dashboard? I see a lot of Jeep owners are doing that.

Other than that, welcome to the new world of computer controlled vehicles. Check and see what percentage of single engine airplanes are computer controlled....there's a good reason very few of them are.

Now I never saw anyone claim they never had to repairs on 20 year old vehicles. Rather the argument is( for me at least) even with some repairs it's much smarter economically freeing up capital that can be used to invest in wealth building assets. Vs, A vehicle that is more complex, looses value, wont last as long and i cant work on if I want to. Then there is I honestly dont like all the tech and prefer steel or final floors, crank windows shift levers for 4x4 over switches.

Some folks prefer to pay payments drive vehicles they wont be able to work on, and that will not last without expensive repairs. More complex = more potential problems.

That foolishness was started in 2020 by a Canadian woman named Allison Parliament. I will have nothing to do with it.

Exactly why I don't sell my 2007 Dodge Ram w/5.9 Cummins, but I need a "runabout" vehicle too and that's what I use a Jeep for.

We have a 2016 Cherokee with that v6 in it and it sounds like it misses at times but only right after you start it and put it in reverse, anywhere from one to three times but has never thrown a code. While driving it is fine, has 220,000 miles on it now
