Put a screw with a big head on it under the point of the beam if you have a thicker one to hook the lip onto then move to the leg holes add more screws further under the beam to help her hold the pelts in place if needed.

Sage, here is my block. 6” long, 3” wide, 1.25” thick. I used maple. Cut the hole with a jigsaw. [Linked Image]

You may see some marks on the hide when your done fleshing, they go away when it dries. I think I might have smoothed the edges of the block inside the hole and outside.

Lots of good advice,
She's starting to get the hang of it. I'll try the block idea in a couple of days when I get my tools home from a job.
She's using an old burlap folded to help it from slipping and also to keep the beam clean.
She got a surprise in a box yesterday.

All good suggestions, , I know for a fact that almost frozen pelts, flesh a lot easier than warm ones.
