Here on long guns there's no transfer or background check, bid and walk away with it.

If you've never been to a sa!e, you're going to be surprised how high some items go for, and how cheap some go for.

ask the auction company
they have an FFL or they have one they work with.

make sure you know if they charge a background check fee or if you pay the commission on the sale to the auction company or if it comes out of what you bid

Looks like a lot of stuff in that auction. I bet there's a bunch of things that will sell cheap, but it won't be the guns. They go real high at all the auctions I've been to in the last few years. Years ago there were bargains to be had, but with the internet advertising too many get the word.

I've bought one gun at an estate sale, ever. And I used to go to a lot of them. Guns almost always go way over value at those auctions. But I did pick up a centenial edition Ruger Service six, stainless 357 one time for a decent price. Decide ahead of time what you are willing to pay for anything at the auction, and then stick with it. That way you won't get sucked in to the bidding wars. I've got some screaming deals at times (bought a big 220 table saw and a 220 stick welder with 50 foot leads at one for $5 apiece one time. Another time I bought 5 beer kegs for $15 bucks and hauled them down to Albertsons and got $50 apiece for them) but other times you will be absolutely flabbergasted at the prices some stuff goes for.

I went to an auction many years ago that the County Sherriff's office put on. They were selling guns that were left over from crime investigations that weren't claimed, and some that were rescued after being thrown in the river. Some in really bad shape. I couldn't believe what people were paying for those things! The same auction had bicycles that were really rough that people just had to have.

I quit going to any auction to buy guns due to they would seek used for new or higher than new prices. So was a wast of time for me.

A hand full of years back dad wanted to go to an estate sale that had a bunch of guns. I went to buy some of the farm equipment. When ths guns went up 2 I had wanted for years but not bad enough to pay what they bring hit the block and I ended uo buying a marlin pre safty jm stamped 357 and a marlin 39a for less tahn the 357 was bringing at the time.

It was a very nice surprise but the first time I got a deal on guns at an auction.
