What am I missing? Never been to one. Is it like fleet farm or harbor freight?

Fleet farm most likely. Definitely not harbor freight.

Similar to Fleet Farm and Farm and Fleet but not as good IMO. There's not as much of a selection at least at the one here. We have Farm and Fleet in this part of WI. Closest Fleet Farm is by Madison. Tractor Supply does have some good deals at times though.

Their prices seem to be much higher than other places.

Here tractor supply tends to stay more to farm supplies vs fleet farm.

I know off topic, but if you have a Bomgaars in your area and havent checked it out they have some great deals on occasion. Get on their email list. I have gotten some things completely free recently after sending in the store rebate as well as they usually have a great selection of DeWalt tools if your a yellow guy. They have a far better DeWalt section than our local Lowes.

They bought out Orchlens here in Mo. but they aren't half the store that Orchlens was. Don't have near the stuff to repair things with and they are overpriced on the things they do have.

I agree with you. Sometimes it’s a necessity to shop there.

There is confirmed rumor that TS will be building in our town. Don't know why, with the coop, 2 hardware stores, 2 auto supply stores all within two miles of each other and Fleet Farm 10 miles down the road; I don't see the need. Anytime I've been in a TS store their prices seem higher, occasionally I find a clearance item or two.

A few years ago they put a Rural King in 18 miles to the south of us. Now the Tractor supply store has next to nobody shopping there. I do like the big bins of nuts and bolts at TS thou.

About all that's left here for "farming" type stuff, feed, etc....Big box stores have some of that stuff, mostly garden supplies and hardware but not real fencing, stock equip, etc...plus they accept your tax exempt status, and you get a percentage of sales back.....

There is a few horse dominant places for hay and supplies, and the last time I went to the last feed mill, all their prices were higher than TS....Agway is mostly a garden center that sells some feed, So TS fills a need here.

Only thing I buy there (Richland Center) is nuts/bolts by the pound. Cheapest in the area, otherwise they are very expensive on just about everything else.

They have competition here.
I like em. It's a store.
Their web site I avoid.

I buy my dog food there, about everything else is overpriced, their nuts and bolts bulk are good also, but North 40 sells theirs that way and are closer.
