Who tells stalled out? I'm not doing it for weight loss just to support my wife . But I have not lost anything In weeks. the old scale was not reliable and the new one had me at 195. Old one fluctuated 5 lbs or so back and forth . step on it and get a different reading 8 out of 10 times.

old one had me between 181 and 186.

I guess I could just be at my idea body weight!

Losing weight is great on low carb if you're overweight. But you'll gain a much healthier metabolism (and health) if you stay with it.

Lost 25 # since November, not a fast loss rate but steady, plus I wasn't overly heavy to start, so the last 20# go slower...If you're at a stall boost your fats, that will usually kick start loss again...and drink water, that's where I go wrong, it's mostly coffee during the day...

I started a low carb diet approximately late spring. Started of at 332lbs.
I'm now at 238.
Approaching my 100 lb goal.
I stalled out a little around the holidays from more inactivity and eating a couple more carbs. But I'm back on the bandwagon again.

I eat a lot of venison, walleye, broccoli, brussel sprouts and cheese.

I shun the white carbs like bread, pasta, cauliflower, rice and potatoes.

I started because of one high A1C reading at the doctor. I was instantly offord a drug like ozempic.
I declined on the drug and figured I'd just shut my pie hole and change my diet and way of thinking.
It's been working for me and my sugar was back to normal in a few weeks and my blood checks have been normal for everything since changing my diet.

I wish all of you good health

No way I can cut food of at a specific time with my rotating work schedule. I don't eat a lot anyway And I don't think I could boost my fats. Since going low carb the fats went through the roof.

Honestly I just need to exercise (also difficult with long days and rotating shift traveling)

I think eliminating sugary drinks and processed foods are great for everyone. Nit a fan of diet and zero cal fake sweeteners either.

Wife stalled out as well. Tried carnivore for a jump start for about 5 days was shooting for 7 but got kidney infection and stopped .

Regardless it just healthier not eating the empty calories.

I recently added some potatoes, but only if their baked or boiled first then refrigerated over night, that develops the resistant starch so makes it a much lower carb, the resistant starch stays when you reheat it and is only digested in the colon as food for your good bacteria .Also whole grains are high in resistant starch as long as you don't cook it, Been making Muesli and having that twice a week with full fat milk or cream, could use yogurt too....I boost the protein with cottage cheese,,,Otherwise it's meat, fat, and low glycemic vegetables, and coffee, lots of coffee, lol

Potatoes and peanut butter I need to stay away from as they both put weight on me.

I have to ask. If a person loses that much that fast you must be dehydrated or on the toilet a lot. Of course some one with a beginning weight that is really high could I guess?

On about the toilet again. Sugars make you retain water so a lot of the big losses right off are losing water weight according to Google..

If I feel the urge to eat something later in the evening, I've been munching on carrot sticks and nuts. I bought 20 pounds of hazelnuts in the shell. Nuts are good for you.

Down 37 here. Carbs are fine, fat is fine, protein is good. Just watch calories, that is all that matters. First law of thermodynamics.

Buy a food scale and use it. It is amazing how many calories are in "healthy" food. A couple handful of nuts a day will keep you plump. Olive oil, butter, and salad dressing are some other sneaky ones. Find your total daily calorie expenditure with an online calculator and then weigh and log everything you eat.

That is what it sounds like.

If you want to test it out, do a metabolic reset.

Blow it on ONE meal. I mean pizza, ice cream, oreos, coke, cheese cake. Make this the last meal of the day.

Go straight back to meal discipline the next day and see what happens in two days.

Research what impact Allulose has on carbs and the benefits that are Ozempic like without the high costs and risks of it. YouTube has a lot of info on its benefits it’s truly an amazing option that makes a difference in sugar alternatives.

No dehydration. The American carb diet floods the the body of sugars and then the body burns it in the form of glucose. When you get rid of carbs, the body depletes itself of glucose and needs something else for energy since the glucose is gone. So the body burns fat for energy.

I understand what happens. But 13 in first 7 days. Something is coming out somewhere. I did lose 11 in 7 days once but it was gall bladder attack and lived on the toilet for 3 of 7 days.

Wait there are side effects? When I was asking about trying this diet I questioned things that I had heard people went thru. Man the responses were all unicorn farts and rainbows.NO diarrhea no shakes, no kidney issues. But some slip up and leak side effects ....
I hope all goes well with everyones diet they choose to eat. All meat is not for me as I KNOW lot of guys on it that almost crapped themselves to death first week after starting.. YEAH YEAH I understand no fiber once you get into it.

On my 13th month. Down to what I weighed when 20 yo, now 67. No acid reflux in over a year, it's worth it just for that alone.

Don't know what they are eating but on a low carb or carnivore diet, taking a poop doesn't happen regularly.

Throw in a couple veggies. I mainly eat whitetail, walleye and some veggies and have no problem being regular.
Also drink plenty of water

I'm doing this for rapid weight loss. Once weight is achieved, can eat more normal to maintain. Gonna give up processed foods a sugary drinks and simple carbs. Some of carbs are ok.

I noticed one thing. If you fall off the wagon and eat a bunch of carbs for 4 or 5 days, you will put 4 or five pounds right back on. I believe that it is mostly water though because when you get back on the wagon, a lot of that weigh comes back off in a week or so. Eating only meat, fat and no-carb vegetables forces your body to use a lot of water rather than retain. It'll make you pee like a racehorse. High carb diet makes you hold a lot of water.

It's really up to your tastes/preferences....

First time I did it put me in the hospital with 6 weeks of repercussions after being released....

Second time just decided I didn't wanna be that miserable.

Low calorie for me. I'll keep my bread, pasta, and occasional Mt Dew, thank you....

After losing 111 pounds, my weight loss stalled. Nothing changed in my diet, my body adjusted is all I can figure. This went on for 3 months I decided to not do low carbs for a 2 week period to let my body reset, and i gained 5 pounds. I went back on low carb, and after two weeks I've lost 3 of the 5 pounds I gained. I'm hoping it keeps dropping.

Every time I read you lost that much it's just wow!! I can't imagine how much better you have to feel and how much easier it is to get up and down the banks setting for beaver.

What your target amount left you would like to still loose?

The other half that most are missing will be the major improvement in your blood tests. Getting sugar (carbs) out of the diet will reduce the chances of life-threatening disease. And cognitive ability will also improve.

Sometimes if you bump up the fat you'll start losing again, there's also a theory that if you fast 24 hours occasionally that reboots your system so everything starts to work better. It's not too hard if your busy..

Down to 178 this morning, from 205, All I did was cut out starchy foods, no sugar added most things, and healthy fats.... Feel good, my latest bloodwork was perfect. After about 10 days any carb cravings go away,.. but as always, YMMV....

I am curious when I hear people losing 50,70 over 100 lbs. If some don't mind telling. What was your weight when you began? What are you now.

Started Carnivore on 20 Sep. 124 days ago, Zero sugar, zero carbs, no bread, no veggies, no fruit. Only water, meat, butter and eggs. I'm down 86 pounds. All of my joint pain is gone, I no longer snore. I haven't felt this good in years!

I am 5'8" and not big boned. I ballooned up to 196 over time and went no-carb and lost 25 pounds. Now I fluctuate between 171 and 178. Weight loss stalled out. I'm still not where I'd like to be. I'd like to see what 165 feels like, but I'll probably need to burn that off with more exercise. I eat plenty of fat already.

Weighed 175 my whole life. Blood sugar was getting bad about 4years ago. Started eating about 12 carbs a day, and while sugars got better, I flt like crap most of the time. Stuck with it though, and lost down to about 160. Worked in more carbs and veggies, but couldn’t put the weight back on. After about another year of that, I went back, but worked in intermittent fasting. Felt good this time, but in about three months, I was down to 150. Shucked the fasting, and worked in a few more carbs. Working pretty well now, and I’m between 155 and 160, which is a pretty good weight for me aat my age, and blood sugars are much improved. What a journey! lol

Yeah I think a 24 hour fast kick starts your metabolism, like a re-boot. I was at a standstill for a few weeks, did the fast and dropped another 5# fast....down 30#.... 20 more than when I was a scrawny 20 year old....I think this is about perfect for me.....

I declined on the drug and figured I'd just shut my pie hole and change my diet and way of thinking.
It's been working for me and my sugar was back to normal in a few weeks and my blood checks have been normal for everything since changing my diet.

Found a big bag of frozen biscuits in the bottom of the freezer. I cooked the whole bag and ate them all over the weekend and gained 3 pounds.
Carbs are evil, but man they were good. Back to bacon, hamburger and sausage hardcore again for me
I'll never get my former teen model physique back eating biscuits...
